Participation in the inshore skipper course requires 16 years age. Duration of the course is at least 32 hours.

Previous sailing experience as a crew member is required to participate in the inshore skipper course. The recommended sailing experience before participating in the course is at least 100 nautical miles. It is needed knowledge of navigation for this level (for example Inshore navigation or Navigation1).

The content of the inshore skipper course includes, for example, preparation for sea and route planning, boat handling with the engine and sails, mooring, navigation skills, knowledge of the rules of the road and the skipper's responsibility, emergency situations and taking care of the crew and the yacht. We already familiarize ourselves with these on a separate theory day before the course. The course includes a separate navigation, MOB and harbour training day.
